La Graciosa's Committees
Every Parent needs to sign up to be an Adult Advisor for one of the following Committees. With out an Adult Advisor we can not have the event the committee plans. The kids can put the list of committees in there record book to earn the different Stars for the Hats. It also help the kids with leadership skills.
October Committees:
Pumpkin Decorating Contest - Members develop the catagories and provide judges. Pumpkins can be painted, gluedon, or drawn on buty may not be cut. After contest, the pumpkins get donated.
Costume Contest - Members meet to develop the catagories and provide judges for a costume contest.
National 4H Week -
November Committees:
Pajama Drive - Members meet to coordinate a pajama drive for local charitable organization and deliver donations.
Double Quarter-a-Dip Dinner - Putluck Fundraiser. Meet with committee members to organize a potluck fundraiser, to be held before the Comunnity Meeting.
Fall Canned Food Drive - Members meet to coordinate a canned food drive. Decorate boxes to bring to the November Community Meeting, and deliver donations to Food Bank.
SM. Christmas Parade - Prepare for the Santa Maria Christmas Parade in early December. Members meet to organize a float entry and prepare entry for the Parade.
Orcutt Christmas Parade - Meet to prepare for Old Orcutt Christmas Parade in early December
Christmas Ornament Exchange - Members meet to organize a Christmas Ornament Exchange to be held after the December Community Meeting.
December Committees:
Christmas Caroling - Members meet to do Christmas Caroling a Senior Citizens homes throughout Santa Maria Area.
Adopt-A-Family - Members meet to select a family through a charitable organization, organize a donation tree at the December Community Meeting, shop for presents for the family, wrap them and deliver them before Christmas.
January Committees:
Baby Items for Charity - Organize committee members to create a baby item donation drive at the January Community Meeting to donate to a charity (i.e. Good Samaritan or Battered Women's shelter)
Club Sweatshirt Design Contest - Members meet to organize a sweatshirt design contest for the club, and publish contest rules in November, December and January Newsletter. Contest to be held at January Meeting.
Club Sweatshirt Orders - Members collect club sweatshirt orders beginning at the January meeting and close orders by the February Meeting.
February Committees:
Judging Board Contest - Organize Committee members to publish how to create a Judging Board in the Club Newsletter, organize a Judging Board contest for the club for the February Community Meeting.
March Committees:
Recycling Drive- Members meet to organize a recycling drive at the March Community Meeting. Take doantions to the Recycling Center.
Cake Decorating Contest and Auction - Organize a cake decorating contest and cake auction fundraiser for the club, publish judging categories in the Newsletter.
April Committees:
Hot Dog Fundraiser - Organize a hot dog fundraiser for the club.
Officer Nominations & Elections - Organize Officer Nominations for the April Community Meeting, and Elections at teh May Community Meeting.
Spring Canned Food Drive w/Kcoy - Coordinate a canned food drive in conjunction with KCOY, coordinate the donation to be filmed by KCOY TV during their month-long food drive for the Food Bank.
